Throughout his career, he has led international teams, products, and programs for Meta, Yahoo!, and Sky News; and even guest lectured at Stanford. His passion lies in creating trustworthy and safe online experiences, with the goal of building a better internet.

Recent Background

In 2022, Rich led a team of 35 people at Meta, overseeing the creation of engaging and high-quality experiences on several international Facebook surfaces, such as Facebook News, Climate Science Center, COVID-19 Hub, Emotional Health Hub, and the Small Business Hub. He also established and managed the Curation team's global partnerships workstream, collaborating with some of the largest media organizations in the world. In addition, Rich played a key role in pioneering user experiences in the metaverse on Oculus VR and developing innovative community governance programs.

During his time as Program Lead in 2019, Rich spearheaded the launch of Facebook News, which grew to attract +50 million daily users with high-quality content. His responsibilities included crafting comprehensive guidelines and policies for content inclusion, as well as overseeing a team of program managers, policies, and trust & safety projects.

From 2017 to 2019, Rich formed strategic partnerships with some of the largest media organizations in Europe, helping Facebook and Instagram establish meaningful corporate relationships and unlock mutually beneficial business opportunities. He also traveled throughout EMEA, providing publishers and content creators with best practices for growing audiences on Facebook and Instagram.
